A great event, the story of a great success
On the first day of the previous congress, while the opening ceremony, I said to myself “Yes, we did it!” when I saw that one thousand seats in the auditorium were entirely filled.
Twenty years ago, in the magical atmosphere of Istanbul, we were very excited to launch a new meeting platform for the dental world. We were expecting to meet dental professionals from all over the world, especially from the Balkans, Middle East, North Africa, Russia, and Turkic Republics.
We have thought that with the help of the central position of Istanbul between East and West and being a bridge between Asia and Europe, meeting in Istanbul would be easier than many places in the world.
In the last 10 years, dental professionals from many countries proved to us that our dream is coming true. GREATIST 2023 registration desk recorded that 2715 delegates attended, and 4639 sector members visited the exhibition totally.
Therefore, we proudly say that GREATIST is the second biggest dental event in Türkiye. On the other hand, the event is the biggest non-associated dental congress in the country.
In this step, I would like a little bit to tell you about the GREATIST project. Dental Tribune International (DTI), Turkish Dental Businessman Association (DISSIAD) and our company Vestiyer Publishing Group (VYG) have signed the agreement to create a new dental meeting platform in Istanbul. In this process, we changed the event's name from Dental Istanbul to GREATIST (It was “Dental Istanbul” from 2002 to 2014).
The main idea is that Istanbul is the centre of the 4-hour-flight-circle. It means that from 3 continents and 56 countries, more than 1.6 billion people, can reach Istanbul via 4-hour or less flight. Most people can come to Türkiye without any visa requirement or could get an e-visa easily. Therefore, we aim to create a new meeting point in Istanbul for the dental world.
Since we considered the health and safety of our attendees, GREATIST 2020 and 2021 were cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, but last year, in 2022, it took successfully place. Now, we are making preparations for the event planned for 2023.
On 13th - 15th October 2023, we would be pleased to see you in Istanbul, as a visitor, exhibitor, attendee or observer.
