THE DIGITAL WORLD IN SURGICAL PRACTICE: ONE STEP FORWARD
Digital technologies have rapidly gained popularity andbecome a routine part of everyday practice in the dental profession. Digital technology, which aims to speed up the daily work pace and make treatment procedures easier, is being used more and more in oral and maxillofacial surgery. In this presentation, the basis, advantages and disadvantages of these advanced technologies used in complex operations such as implant surgery and orthognathic surgery will be shared.
CURRICULUM VITAE
Prof. Dr. Bahadır Kan
He was born in Eskişehir in 1982. He graduatedfrom Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry in 2005 and also started to work as a Research Assistant, Hacettepe University Faculty of Dentistry Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery Department. He received the title of specialist dentist and doctorof science (PhD) in 2011 by completing his thesistitled “Histomorphometric and radiological comparative examination of the effects of low-intensity laser application on distractionosteogenesis: Experimental research”.
In 2012, he was appointed to Kocaeli University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with the title of Assistant Professor. He received the title of Associate Professor in 2017. After leaving the department where he was the Head of the Department between 2016-2018, he worked as a faculty member in the Department of Oral, Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery at Biruni University Faculty of Dentistry between 2018-2021.
He continues his academic life in Istanbul Okan University Faculty of Dentistry, where he started to work since 2021. He has been assigned as Proffessor in 2022.
Dr. Kan, who is a member of plenty of local and international scientific associations, has many articles and book chaptersin indexed foreign and peer-reviewed internatioanal journals. Reconstruction of maxillo-mandibulardefects and bone regeneration methods, advanced dental implant surgeries, orthognathic surgery, and oral soft tissue surgeries are Dr.Kan's areas of interest. Dr. Kan is married and has two children.
